The fall Wenatchee Naturalist course is filled, but you can still apply for the WSU Extension State Master Naturalist Program, in partnership with Wenatchee River Institute (WRI).
Learn about ways to volunteer with Wenatchee River Institute (WRI). The mission is connecting people, communities and the natural world. WRI offers in-person Red Barn events, and a wide range of youth outdoor education programs.
Learn about North Central WA Audubon Society and consider joining. Plan to attend a quarterly guest speaker event. The board is in great need of education volunteers, and for treasurer and – read about it on page 3 of the August newsletter. NCWAS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of and education about birds and their habitats in Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, and Okanogan counties. NCWAS supports activities to enhance, protect, and restore healthy natural ecosystems and native biodiversity using science, advocacy, education, and on-the-ground conservation to promote the welfare of birds in North Central Washington.
Each fall, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) hosts volunteer work parties for trailwork and native plant restoration. CDLT offers free outings and Lunch-and-Learn talks for the public. Consider joining! CDLT’s mission is to engage communities in conserving, caring for, and accessing the natural lands and waters that sustain North Central Washington.

The Columbia Breaks Fire Interpretive Center (CBFIC) is located on 17.5 acres above the Columbia River at the north end of the town of Entiat in North Central Washington. CBFIC is in need of volunteers to serve on the board, and to volunteer on the ground and for education– they are a small but mighty group of long-standing supporters.
The Washington Native Plant Society. offers in-person programs October-March, All are welcome to sign up for field trips Consider joining. The mission is to promote the appreciation and conservation of Washington’s native plants and their habitats through study, education, and advocacy.
