Become a Citizen Scientist Weed Warrior!

Next week, plan to attend two dynamic workshops about weeds we want to stop in their tracks before they invade the Wenatchee Foothills. Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT), Chelan County Weed Board, and the Wenatchee Public Library have teamed up to bring you two free

evening workshops, 6-8pm, on Tuesday April 25 and Thursday April 27.

Especially after wildfire, our foothills are at risk of being invaded by new noxious weeds whose seeds come in on fire-fighting vehicles and crews. We’ve designed a simple plan: A volunteer learns to recognized 15 of our most feared invaders and if one is seen, he/she snaps a cell phone photo and sends it to CDLT. If you are a hiker in the foothills, consider become a citizen scientist weed warrior!
